The only pumpkin I successfully grew amongst all those vines was this thirty-one pounder. I planted the French heirloom seeds called Rouge Vif D'Etampes. It is believed that the author/illustrator Charles Perrault (1628 - 1703) used this variety as a model for the pumpkin Cinderella's godmother transformed into a coach.
