My birdbath rocks! The base is split down the middle, but is held together by the sap of the white pine tree stump it sits upon. I miss the white pine, but it split in half in February 2006 and opened up the yard quite a bit.
I don't...well, actually can't remove the base in the winter for storage and it has worked out for the past three years. Here are pictures of the white pine just before Bartlett Tree Experts took it down. It was pretty amazing how the tree was curled at the top which prevented it from taking out the redwood fence. Whew!
